Slip sliding away

We were stranded yesterday morning. The ice on our road was unbelievable! We could have had an NHL game out there! Oh yeah - those morons aren't playing right now. Do I miss hockey? Not in the least.
I digress.
The ice.. it went on forever! Dave got out to try and push the car and he ended up sliding all the way down the hill. So he and the neighbors all used their own salt and sand to try and get some traction. (Remember that movie "Blazing Saddles" when Paul Newman wore his cowboy boots to bed because he said it gave him better traction??!!) We started to leave the house at 6:30am. It was 10:15am when I finally got to class. We didn't try that whole time, but it took that amount of time for the road to finally be driveable.
And then I get to school (it was a shitty weather day - rain, sleet, slushy roads) and the friggin class was cancelled.
Welcome to winter in Quebec, I guess!

  • Why did you ask yourself a question and answer it? I don't know.
