H20

Well water.
Have you ever lived in a home with a well and its own septic?
Makes for a very interesting odor everytime you turn on the tap or mow the lawn near that awful plug in the yard that contains all the shit that's made its way through your plumbing.
I went to take a luxurious bath today, with my BathBomb from LUSH that my husband bought me during a business trip at the airport in Toronto (hmmmmmmmmmm, was that an after thought or what???) ... and the tub began to fill with this very pee-like looking water. SO appealing. I really wanted to get clean in that! Not.

Ah, the trials and tribulations of country living continue...

But as we watched our wedding video on Saturday night, it reminded me why I'm here. My wonderful husband. And that makes everything ok.
(He doesn't even read this blog so you know that I actually love him if I'm saying stuff like this!) Oh yeah - some wine and gin and tonics also make everything ok!

  • Take a half a chlorine puck (the kind used in swimming pools) and drop it into your well. For the first few days, you will have very chlorine-tasting water (use a Brita). But that will eventually clear, and you won't have any sulfur or other odor from your well water. If it comes back quickly, drop in the other half of the puck. Do that once every 6-7 months and voila! Clean water from your well.
